This end-user license agreement (“Agreement”) governs your use of the website improbabilityworks.com and any content made available on it. By accessing the site, you agree to this Agreement.
This Agreement does not cover the video game Velvet Door itself, which is distributed via third-party storefronts (Steam, Epic Games Store) and covered by a separate EULA made available at install time.
License to use the site
Improbability Works grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and browse this site for personal, non-commercial use. You may not crawl, scrape, or redistribute the site’s content beyond what is necessary for ordinary browsing and caching by search engines.
Intellectual property
All materials on the site — including but not limited to the Improbability Works word-mark and logo, the Velvet Door name and visual identity, all written copy, illustrations, screenshots, videos, and code — are protected by copyright, trademark, and related intellectual property rights held by Improbability Works or its licensors.
Short quotations for news coverage, reviews, and academic commentary are permitted under applicable fair-use / fair-dealing rules, provided that the source is credited.
User conduct
When using this site, you agree not to:
- Attempt to bypass any technical protection or rate-limiting measure;
- Submit automated form entries, spam, or abusive content;
- Use the site to distribute malware, phishing material, or illegal content;
- Misrepresent your identity or impersonate Improbability Works.
Third-party links
The site links to third-party services (Steam, Epic Games Store, Discord, social platforms, and others). Improbability Works has no control over those services and is not responsible for their content or practices. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms.
Warranty and liability
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Improbability Works disclaims liability for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your access to or use of the site.
Nothing in this Agreement excludes liability that cannot be lawfully excluded, including liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Termination
Improbability Works may suspend or terminate your access to the site at any time, without prior notice, if you breach this Agreement or engage in conduct harmful to the site or its users.
Updates to this Agreement
This Agreement may be updated from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be highlighted on the site for a reasonable period.
Applicable law and jurisdiction
This Agreement is governed by French law. Any dispute not resolved amicably will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent French courts, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your place of residence within the European Union.
